In May this year we shipped our first period pad micro-factory to Kibera, one of the slums in Nairobi. It was financed by an Australian woman called Lois Harris. Lois was filming in Kenya when she came across the global crisis of girls not attending school when they have their period.
The micro-factory is now up and running and we have recently received photos of the first distribution of free period pads to school girls in the slum. We are now talking to 18 different NGOs about setting up micro-factories in their communities to support girls and women.
Our goal for 2020 is to set up 50 factories on the ground in Africa and the Middle East. Our vision is that all girls everywhere are free to finish their education unhindered by the lack of a pad
